I have never heard of dimebag darrel before today.

I hope that, for his fans, they'll remember his as the musician that he was, and his legacy won't become a trivia question as to "who was the guy shot on stage in ohio?"

Christ that it sick. That story was actually quite shocking.

Its been a full day and this still hasnt sunk in yet. Its just so tragic. Dimebag was the nicest man you could ever wish to meet and one of the true guitar legends of out time. The metal community has suffered an immense loss in every sense of the word. I feel for the abbot family and especially vinnie, just hope the guy is still hanging on.

I had the pleasure of being able to hang out with Dime this summer at download, and he was one of the most genuine, decent rock stars ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was passing around shots and doing air guitar to judas priest songs, pissed as a fart, right after coming off the main stage!! He just wanted everyone to be drunk with him. He didnt deserve to go in such a sick way.

Rocksoc should honour him tonight and pay tribute to his amazing playing.

'Some people take all this seriously but to me its just one big jack-off session.' Dimebag 1998.

The guy was a fucking metal legend. I read that the guy who shot him dead was pissed that Pantera had split.
Lunatic.

Also, Phil Anselmo (singer from Pantera for those that don't know), was quoted as saying in metal hammer that he would love to see Dimebag die.

Fuck fuck fuck. This has pissed me off something chronic. Music isn't a matter of life and death - it's much more important than that.

From one guitarist to another and from all music lovers in the world, RIP.
