what is so good about chop suey anyway? unless you're an "im abowt 2 brayk" angsty teenager who thinks suicide is cool.



meh i didnt get a chance to vote as i was too drunk but there are many far better songs than chop suey

I think the key thing to remember about the popularity of Chop Suey! is the structure of the song. Not everyone wants to spend four minutes straight headbanging along to a song - it knackers you out for the next one. People do love to just let loose and mosh away, though, and Chop Suey! has those parts to it... but broken up by angsty (almost gothy in some sense) intervals which allow you to catch your breath and go ballistic when you get the chance.

On top of that, the beat is good, the bass is awesome, the guitar parts are Air-Guitar-possible and the lyrics are known (well... mostly.) Everyone knows it, and it crosses over well between various sub-genres' styles of dancing.

how could you tell what they were singing about??

I can't remember any of the lyrics except the Bat out of hell song cos I've heard that too much before...
