Requests thread, part deux

Welcome to the RockSoc board, it gets worse here every day... talk about RockSoc, rock music, plain rocks or other silly irrelevant drivel. All are welcome: members & non-members, of the past, present & future.

Requests thread, part deux

Postby Starla on Fri Feb 10, 2006 11:33 pm

I think the old requests thread has gone to a better place, so I'm making a new one. Please use it!!

Remember that if DJs know in advance what people want then it's easier to work it into a set - most people work out a set in advance. We may need to ask for CDs as well.

Have fun :)

Ministry - Everyday Is Halloween (underplayed in the UK but it is a goth classic)

The Cure - Burn (from a soundtrack only but it is The Crow OST and it is perhaps the coolest song by The Cure)

Helmet - Milquetoast (from The Crow again but it's one of my favourites)

Hammerfall
Judas Priest
Blind Guardian
Stratovarius

Got a shed load of CD's stuffed with great stuff for Rocksoc, so its no problem if DJ's want to borrow it.

I'm sure I posted on the old one, but I don't know where it's gone. Nevertheless, some requesting (note, tracks are examples, unless they've got NOT written in front of them, in which case they're over-done/I just plain don't like them):

Iron Maiden: The Clansman, Can I Play with Madness, Out of the Silent Planet, Powerslave
NOT: The Wicker Man

Judas Priest: Screaming for Vengeance, Between the Hammer and the Anvil, Demonizer, Night Crawler, Revolution

Anthrax: Think About and End, Strap it On

Blaze: Kill and Destroy, Stare at the Sun, Alive

Godsmack: Bad Religion, Get Up Get Out, Vampires

Hammerfall: Hero's Retuen, Templars of Steel, Angel of Mercy, The Unforgiven Blade

Meatloat: Bat out of Hell, Life is a Lemon

Ramstein: Moskau, Du Hast
NOT: Amerika

I remember Jez playing Mastodon once and it went down amazing so how about Blood and Thunder again or March of The Fire Ants?
Dont think people hearing some new/unsigned/local/different bands would hurt at all. Less of them same and more Mastodon!

If anyone's got this one I'd love to hear it down at RockSoc:

Jay-Z/Linkin Park - Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer

You get 3 songs in one and once the One Step Closer riff kicks in it really motherfucking rocks.

[The live one is rawer and even better but the crowd get in the way for playing at a club night.]
