Welcome to the RockSoc board, it gets worse here every day... talk about RockSoc, rock music, plain rocks or other silly irrelevant drivel. All are welcome: members & non-members, of the past, present & future.

Hallowe'en Request Thread

Postby Roulette on Wed Oct 11, 2006 4:40 pm

Can you post up your requests for the Hallowe'en RockSoc (Saturday 28th of October) in this thread, please?

Please try and make sure you get your requests in well before the actual event :)

(It's now that I would love to have a nice big "sticky this thread" button...)

Something by The Misfits! :D Skulls would be nice, or Last Caress. If people know Zombina and the Skeletones, they would be appreciated a lot. Oh, & I definitely second Bat Out Of Hell. :D xXx

Zombina is awesome!

Oh, and I also put in a bit for Rasputina - Transylvanian Concubine, if anyone's up for it?

I actually have devised a small Halloween playlist! For atmosphere, and such like, and the inspire people, rather than as requests per se. I can copy it to CD if anyone wants it (I have tried to avoid too much "gay power metal!", though I may have failed...):

Burnt Offerings- Iced Earth
Hells Bells- AC/DC
Victim of Fate- Helloween
Enter Sandman- Metallica
A Touch of Evil- Judas Priest
W.C.F.Y.A- Anthrax
Bat Out of Hell (I'm a traditionalist!)
Crimson King- Demons and Wizards
Godzilla- Blue Oyster Cult
Chainsaw Buffet- Lordi
Phantom of the Opera- Nightwish (see above)
Bark at the Moon- Ozzy
Dracula- Rob Zombie
And to finish... Fear of the Dark- Iron Maiden

Other songs that didn't make the final list include:

Madhouse- Anthrax
Knights of the 21st Century- Hammerfall
The entirety of Iced Earth's Horror Show...
A LOT by Iron Maiden! (Transylvania, Bring Your Daughter... Moonchild, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Number of the Beast etc etc.)
Night Crawler- Judas Priest
Lordi. Just... Lordi!
The obvious Metallica- For Whom the Bell Tolls, Sanitarium, The Thing That Should Not Be, St. Anger (for is is truly frightening! :D)
Kinslayer- Nightwish
Forces- Susumu Hirasawa!

Bit of a rant- but I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm pretty psyched about Halloween. Hopefully my costume will work- I just need an eyepatch and some camo...

Awesome. Except I'd change "A Touch of Evil" to "Hell Patrol" as it'd keep up the theme but be a lot more faced paced. And change Lordi's song to "Devil is a Loser" again to keep up the theme. I'd also add "Hallowed Be Thy Name" by Iron Maiden preferably but Cradle would be ok if it'd please Metal Dan ;)

I second PaddyW's requests and add:

The Edge - Blind Guardian
Terror Train - Demons and Wizards
Nightrain - Guns N Roses
Blood Bound - HammerFall
Voodo Child - Jimi Hendrix
Painkiller - Judas Priest
Detroit Rock City/Rock n Roll All Night Long - Kiss
Rock n Roll - Led Zep
Dawn of Battle - Manowar
Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
Hot For Teacher/House of Pain - Van Halen

I also recently got the Red Alert 2 soundtrack and that rocks ass. Can bring any of those on CD :)

Yes, that means I will be there :D \m/

I'll probably get flamed for this but how about going big on the classic rock or more mainstream stuff? try and lure in a few people from outside with songs they know so they can be introduced to the rocksoc love!

I agree in principle - but I don't think it will be necesary. Rocksoc halloween is legendary because we know how to dress up and its one of the few chances to view a live band in the union.

to be fair, i wouldnt use the term band when referring to Kaleb, i would use the term "Fucking Legends"

oh and maybe a member of the comittee can confirm this for me, can Life Members of the
Assosciation join rocksoc as students would?
