Things that make me happy

Welcome to the RockSoc board, it gets worse here every day... talk about RockSoc, rock music, plain rocks or other silly irrelevant drivel. All are welcome: members & non-members, of the past, present & future.

Things that make me happy

Postby Rose Chambord on Tue Dec 02, 2003 3:12 am

In radical opposition to the normally morbid demeanor of many rocksoc posts, I propose the happy thread!

Rules:
no angst
no cynicism
no griping
and no bitching!!!

...let's see how long this lasts...

lets get things rolling...

*puffins with muffins on rocks
*waking up in the morning and realizing you can go back to sleep
*fires when it's cold outside
*buffy
*hot buttered toast
*smartie bars...Chocolate with chocolate bits and multi-coloured sugar
*Tunnocks tea cakes
*crumpets (pronouced the french way, with an accent-crumpa!-don't forget to roll your 'r's)
*rentable, stoned drummers
*mini lanterns
*sun-burnt walruses
*Chesney
*sunday dinner
*the first spliff of the day...and the last

so what makes you happy?

edited for extra smiles

things that make me happy:

overcast rainy days & dark nights
the security of knowing you're going to fail
the ever present company from the shadows of loneliness
the comfort of melancholy
Joy Division

[hr]many folk will go to great lengths seeking out happiness without realising that all the happiness they need lies within & around themselves waiting to be unearthed

Things that make me happy:

Fear, anger, hatred, suffering.

though only on saturdays

today I shall mostly be happy because of:

Lyn
The joys of metal
the glory that was Sprited Away (showing last night to an unappreciative essex audience -bar 2)

Happy!

Hmm... Already I detect the lack of happiness and smiles here. Any nice fluffy, sparkly things make anyone happy?

Oh, and in the spirit of the thread, things currently making me happy are lots of strong coffee and cigarettes!

* Checking my bank balance and having more money than I thought (hasn't happened recently, sadly)
* Being stoned in the company of friends
* Going home for Xmas after 15 months (barring the odd day) in St Andrews
* Downloading Chasing Amy in an afternoon
* Irn Bru
* Cigareets and Whusky and Wild Wild Women
* Being so close to finishing all my assessed work

sunny winter days
getting back essays with far better marks then you expect
sex in the bath
having cool flatmates who don't mind you having a bath with your boyfriend
free food
Christmas present shopping
Christmas full stop
Buying a new mobile and getting a free DVD player-how does that work?
Charity shops
Martini and lemonade
"I have seen flowers come in stony places
And kind things done by men with ugly faces,
And the gold cup won by the worst horse at the races,
So I trust, too."
