So is anyone up for a game of this cool mod anytime soon? Perhaps this saturday afternoon? (Yes I know its raisin weekend, but there should still be time)

Also I would say just use v1.0 and not bother using the v1.01 server patch.

Raisin weekend is more about Sunday - people should be preparing themselves on Saturday, steading themselves for the onslaught and gauntlet ahead of them - although really there is no preparation sufficient.

I'd like to play sometime mid afternoonish perhaps. I think I have the latest HL patch in but can someone tell me the number or point me at a page so I can check.
Also, will these be everyone's first go on the mod 'cause I haven't the faintest idea how it works at the moment.

Greebo if you want to setup a server that'll be great, be warned though some maps can be laggy. Latest half-life version should be v1.1.1.0 (if that makes sense). Try these to get it:

I'll try and get one set up for when I leave on friday - no promises tho.
Did try one earlier today (dedicated) but for some reason when I tried to connect it timed out.
Will get someone else to try connecting later, see if it ain't just me

I'm going to setup a small (4-8 people) Natural Selection server on sat (16 nov) at around 2pm. If you want to play add your voice to this thread so I can get an idea of numbers.

There's also a poll in the "No NS server - Q3 instead" http://www.thesinner.co.uk/messageboard ... hread=1982 for which Half-Life mods people would like to play.

is there another patch or is NS still at v1.0? it seems all internet games are black....do i have the wrong version? is there a patch i dont know about? hmmm.

NS is at v1.0 for clients (there's is a small v1.01 patch for servers which is n't really needed). The reason all the net games are black is that if you are on resnet you are behind a firewall that blocks the ports used by half-life and thus NS.

Basically all the game ports are blocked so you can't play games on the net anymore.

If you want to play games on resnet check these boards and watch for people putting up servers and join them (I just had a good game of NS on resnet).
