Ipod Batteries

So anyone with an iPod had difficulty with bateries ie. running down quickly or breaking? Is it possible to get replacements over here?

Channel 4 news said many people were complaining because the batteries dont last long.

I haven't had any problems- the battery life on my iPod is pretty damn good.

Have you checked the Apple site?

Yes, it is possible to get them replaced, but it's not really that common a problem.

I got mine September 2002 (first iPod in St Andrews, I believe), and have had no problems whatsoever, I still get well over ten hours battery life.

However, if yours is still in its initial one year warranty period, I'd suggest buying an extended warranty for it from Apple. It costs just £50 from the Apple Education store, and provides another two years peace of mind, covering problems with batteries, the hard drive, and pretty much everthing except misuse.

Or if it's not in the initial warranty period, put it on your home insurance. Mine is coverered for all risks on my policy, and cost me only about another £20 a year.
