It's amazing how stagnant this board has become since the end of Wolf.

Damn I miss it so much.

To be fair, this board is about WiredSoc, not just Wolf.

I have attempted posting stuff about what I'm meant to be doing this year for the Society (being both Publicity Officer and Web Co-ordinator) but no one seems to give a crap...

Just start geeky/computer related threads. A Mac vs PC one is always a fun one...

I miss wolf too. Roullette, you can hold your tongue. A little first year has no concept of how much us wolf-war veterans are in without it :P

I'd like to change the world but they won't give me the source code.

And you have no concept of how to spell my username and grammar, apparently x.x Make that make sense and I might have a clue of how to respond to that :P

Should we conduct tests with a man on the outside? Can people in resnet connect to games outside on particular ports?

As far as software goes, I made the perfect wolf server just as it was discovered that people can't host games in hall. I also retain a big MSN list although its obvious that many addresses are inactive.

You can in New Hall, it's just that only people on your subnet can join.

Which makes it a bit pointless for a University wide match, I guess.

What if we were to make a Wolf:ET society?

Could we force open a port with the power of many student voices united in a cry of pity?

Surely if we were a bit more legitimate they would take action. Who would be open to that, or is it a poor idea.

Or perhaps we just need divine intervention to get a game started:

"Let us play.

Our server, who art in uni hall,
Lagless is thy server.
The time art named,
Thy rules are law
In a battle of seven v seven.
Give us this night our weekly game.
And forgive us our team kills.
As we curse those who spawn-camp against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
To use flame-throwers and ROFL-grenades,
Over playing as medics.
For yours is the power
To kick us
Again and again

Amen"

- The Wolfers Prayer

I think its a bit short sighted to make it a wolf specific society, and besides wired intends to support a gaming server afaik.
