Win 98 cd

Postby thebrookster on Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:36 pm

Does anyone have a windows 98 se installation cd that I could possibly get a copy of? I am currently trying ti fix a friends PC for them, and my cd appears to be dying. I can most of the way through the installation, but then it comes up and says it cannot read the cab files. I have tried multiple ways to get around this, from placing the cab files on the hdd, extracting the cab files to the hdd (which took nearly three hours!!) and placing the entire setup cd onto the hdd and running the setup of the hdd. Unfortunatly my cd appears to be scratched. I do have a Licence Key, not that Microsoft checks them.

Forgot to say, I can either supply CDRW (no cdr's right now) or I am happy to cover the costs for one.

I think I can get hold of one but you'll have to wait until Monday.

That alright?

Lame, but cooler than you.

Roulette, you are a darling. I managed to get it working just, and then my HDD died this morning. My language was even more impressive than the Comp. lab at night!!

If you still have an urgent need for one too, let me know as I have both a Win98 and 98 SE CD here.
