All come play Unreal Tournament! Server now up and running!

Yes indeed, we now have a 24/7 UT server on the go. UT'99 of course.

To join, select "Open Location" and enter "wired.st-and.ac.uk".

This is a new one so theres still a fair amount of server configging going on.

For those who don't know/never played UT, its a futuristic FPS. Gameplay is fast and loose, similar to the Quake series in many respects. There are 3 versions of UT, '99, 2003 and 2004 with a 2007 sequel in the works. We're playing the '99 game as everyone with a computer will be able to run it. (and 2003 was shite to be honest.)

I also know a lot of you won't have been expecting to play this here and will have left your UT discs at home. Never fear, we're working on that. Check back soon.

Been informed people outside resnet can't connect. Solution in the works involving VPN. Check back soon for this too.

Edit: Here it is. Follow this link...

Great stuff

I just wanted to say thanks for getting this set up. I dusted off my old UT disc and installed the 436 patch last night. Played a little on the server but not many people on at present. A classic FPS

The downloads on the server seem borked right this min (5pm thurs) so I can't connect.

Anyway, the virtual private network the people outside resnet need to use before connecting to the server is downloaded and explained here.

Finally a game my poor slow crap machine runs that I can play!

Ripper ftw!

For new people to the game, because this game is a helluva lot faster paced than wolf and cs you really need to learn how to move before you learn to shoot. A live player is a useful player. Having just had my ass handed to me by rotiseph (ffs) im really eager to get full 8 man teams running so we can get decent ctf and assault.

Also if you are interested Andrew Melville has its own team and we're looking for other set teams to play.

My only request is that team killers get booted.

If anyone outside ResNet wants a copy of UT - or inside if you want to buy me a CD - then give me a shout.

Tired Freudian references aside - your mother played my mighty skin flute like a surf crowned sea nymph trying to rouse Poseidon from his watery slumber!
I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve

If you're the "1337 M4574!!!111", then I'm the Weirdo in the corner playing air guitar to her iPod.
Lame, but cooler than you.
