for me it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in, over the past year it's been Wolf: Enemeny Territory for the most part and Diablo2 in the recent month or so.

Wolf: I dunno, we had a good number of people playing daily last year, I got really into it wanting to make the experience better.. as a few will testify, maybe i took it a little far.

D2: again, it's just addictive, trying to level up your character, trying to complete all the quests. i've spent loads of time playing in the last month.

Agreed. I try not to look at the counter on the screen because of the number of days (yes) it shows i've been playing it.

Rocket Mania!

It's a popcap game where you line up fuses with rockets to get them to light. I played it for fifteen minutes, and it took over my mind for the rest of the day.

Champ man is very addictive too; half of the problem is that there is no natural "end point" or break. You can't say "i'll finish after this level" it's more like "i'll just play this CL qualifier, then i'll finish."

Most addictive game(s):

Halo Xbox: legendary single player is cool, co-op on some levels always a blast, splitscreen multi is great, but what makes it the best is internet gaming through Xbconnect. online gaming definitely makes it my fav. game. the key to halo is precision: precision pistol (as it's like a fucking sniper), sniper, rocket, and grenade.

Halo PC: same game really, some new shit (fuel rod gun is fun), some new maps are cool (some just suck fucking ass - would benefit from higher player games). but again, it's all about the online, which makes it great.

Civilization or Elite. Depends on what mood I was in. Frontier Elite 2 gave me eye strain I played it that much! Has anyone else ever had dreams of games they're playing obsessively?

I used to, occassionally, but not for many years now.

I thought Civilization was great up until Test of Time (which had so many bugs it was unbelievable, but multiplayer made up for that), and Civ 3 I couldn't understand at all. It seemed that they changed all the rules around for no reason.

And I never could play Frontier very well, mostly because of having no manual for it. I still wonder how David Braben got 10^12 stars in to the game on one HD disk (or at least, that's what it was advertised as having). The whole idea seems rather far-fetched to me.

:P

Most people, even if they've think they've played the game, haven't. Its not something that can be explained.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be Rome: Total War when it comes out in a couple of days...

Dune II: Battle for Arrakis

Used to be fights in my house on who would get to play it. I owned it, but we had only one computer and everyone wanted to play it.
