How can you say such things? Melville is brilliant, I much prefered it to my first year in DRA.

I consider myself a Melvillite, even though it wasn't where I started, it's just where i prefered.

what is the point in a message board when if someone disagrees with the administrator then his/her message is changed to his views.

i think someone needs to get out more.

I won't have Melville bad mouthed to worried freshers on my messageboard. You'll just make them upset and worried, when it's infact a great hall.

Hi everyone!

I'm after a bit of advice, hope you can help...

I'm thinking about taking my bike with me in September as I am a biologist and don't fancy a 20 minute of so walk in the pooring rain to get to labs...my question is:

1. Does Melville have bike lockers or is it just the bike stands round the back?

2. If there is lockers, how do you go about getting one?

3. This is stupid but I will ask it anyway, would the bike be safe?

first, despite what everyone might say you got a better deal than David Russell

Andrew Melville's long corridors actually offer you a little more privacy since you are not cooped up on one level with only 3 other people. However, you might feel cooped up in the whole building It feels a bit like being on a ship TREAT IT AS FUN concentrate on your studies and going out rather than where you eventually crash out and sleep each night. But make your room as homely as you can

I know for a fact that the warden doesn't like that page as he feels it gives the wrong impression. And indeed, I did write some things that article contained for the AMH website but was asked to remove them!

However that said, apart from the article being fairly out of date now (eg; there is no shoppe anyway nor has there been one for a while - also the costs have changed, see "Description of Hall" at http://amh.st-andrews-uni.net/ for an up-to-date list), the article /does/ capture the mood and ambience of the place well - though I think things definitely improved last year, and there's no reason they won't improve again this year!
