Warden's Email

Postby Emma on Wed Feb 08, 2006 7:23 pm

Does anyone know the warden's email for McIntosh Hall? Does the warden have a drop in session or can you just turn up?

Any help appreciated!
Emma

Now some people weren't happy about the content of that last post. And we can't have someone not happy. Not on the internet.

it would be inappropriate to send things to her personal e-mail if it concerns hall business.

Warden's Surgery Hours

Postby Informed User on Wed Feb 15, 2006 6:45 pm

Warden's Surgery Hours are posted outside the office door. Surgery hours are for you to drop by as well as for handling other prearranged business. There are surgery hours every day except Sunday. The next surgery hour is Thursday from 6:30 onwards.

Well thats the email from which we get all the hall announcements and Wardenial stuff. Seems like the one we're supposed to use, unless she has another one.

the warden has surgery hours, rather than email contact. david and i send her emails, but i think it would be inappropriate and unfair to bother her via her personal academic university account. if people really would rather email her, perhaps david and i could put it forward to her to have a secondary warden account like mcwarden@st-and.ac.uk. she might be willing. what do you think?

I've sent her emails at her university address and it never seemed to bother her.
I'm sure if it's a personal matter, or you're trying to schedule a private meeting with her, it's a valid means of contacting her.

yeah but that's often because you've already been contacted by her, not as some random who's wanting to move into hall. she would rather meet them in preson rather than by email.

The whole point of having a University address book and e-mail address each is so that people can easily contact each other quickly and efficiently. Claiming that Jennifer's e-mail address is a personal one is clearly fallacious as it is provided by the University for her dealings within it, something she clearly believes as she uses it to send group e-mails to hall residents.

i'm not suggesting it should only be used for personal matters. what i am saying is that it would be far more appropriate for those who are wishing to move into hall next year who have never lived here before should go to the surgery rather than email.
