Now we have our new Senior and Deputy Senior students elected, it's time to elect the new exec committee. The positions and duties are as follows:
Secretary [s](Hayley Armour 04-05, Jessie Lucey 05-06)[/s]
i. Take minutes of committee meeting, file and publish them as soon as appropriate after the meetings
ii. Provide up-to-date constitution to all committee members
iii. Act as Returning Officer, except when standing for election
iv. Assist the Senior Student and Deputy Senior Student in the organisation of Freshers' Week
Treasurer [s](David Blincow 04-05, Amy Glenn 05-06)[/s]
i. Keep hall finances in order
ii. Keep a record of the accounts of the committee
iii. Prepare budget (with the Senior and Deputy Senior) for the forthcoming year and submit copies to the hall committee for approval
iv. Assist the Senior Student and Deputy Senior Student in the organisation of Freshers' Week
Social Convenor [s](Beth Irvine 03-04, 05-06)[/s]
i. Organise hall social events including, but not limited to Halloween, Christmas Meal, Re-Freshers Week, and Garden Party.
ii. Assist the Senior Student and Deputy Senior Student in the organisation of Freshers' Week
Senior Ball Convenor [s](Jules Watt 04-05, Madeleine McLean 05-06)[/s]
i. To organise the McIntosh Hall Ball
ii. Assist the Senior Student and Deputy Senior Student in the organisation of Freshers' Week
Senior Charities Convenor [s](Lily Law 03-04, Dhwani Patel 04-05, Becky Wainwright 05-06)[/s]
i. Organise fund-raising events for hall charities
ii. Organise Raffles for formal meals (Christmas, Leavers' meal)
iii. Assist the Senior Student and Deputy Senior Student in the organisation of Freshers' Week
If you wish to stand for any of these positions, please submit a short (max 100 words) outline of why you would like to do the job and a photo to either Louise (C1, leh10) or Beth (B30, eji1) by 6pm Wednesday 12th. This will then be published in the hall committee glass cabinet noticeboard for all of hall to read. The names of former and outgoing officers are listed in brackets next to the positions, should you wish to ask them about the jobs before you stand.
Hecklings will then be held on Thursday at 7.30pm where candidates will be expected to speak for a few minutes and answer questions. (If candidates are unable to attend, please tell us asap).
**There are no other rules other than no negative campaigning and generally be nice**
Monday 10th 8am - Nominations open
Wednesday 12th 6pm - Nominations close; candidates list published
Thursday 13th 7.30pm - Hecklings in the Common Room
Friday 14th Lunch & Dinner - Voting
**These positions are ONLY open to those returning to hall next year, including those who have lived in hall previously but are not current residents. If you know anyone who is moving back into hall this year, but is currently in private accommodation, abroad, absent etc, then please pass on this information.**
