Given the price you're getting this is a pretty close spot. Vs bad players I click call here because its not that uncommon for them to make this buy-a-cheap-showdown bet with 6x, 5x or whatever. Can def show up with an Ace though and its pretty hard for him to be bluffing. To be honest I think the most important thing to do is take a note of what he had if you call here as it will tell you a lot about how he plays.

You're right, a check behind on the turn makes most sense if he's floating the flop, so we can induce betting with very marginal or no hands on the river (otherwise - if he's never floating - we lose to much value indeed), but he didn't bet the turn, so we can forget about that. Then the odds actually get reasonably better.
