I can't be bothered to type it all again so I'm just pasting from my blog:
2009 was my first year playing online poker seriously, and I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made from my initial $50 deposit back on Jan 2nd 2009. I definately should be playing higher, and my bankroll should definately been bigger, seeing that I didn't even play 1/2 of the hands I planned to in the summer. I feel I've learned a lot over the past year, and am pretty embarrassed about how I thought about poker during the UKSPC in April.
Due to my laptop breaking about 5 times this year, I can't actually post any yearly graphs, and only have the hands I played on Betfair in my DB. I guess $1k profit isn't too bad for someone who plays as little as me! To be honest, this year was more about gaining a better understanding of poker, and putting myself in a position to make money in future. I'd definately have taken the result at the beginning of the year.
After careful consideration, here are my 2010 goals:
Get a 2.1 or better in 2nd year.
Play at least 100,000 hands (hopefully 150k)
Be playing at least 100NL by the end of the year
Get more motivated to play poker, and to do uni work
Never play underrolled or shot take
I'm not going to set any monetary goals, but would be happy with a $2.5k year
The number of hands really depends on what I'm doing in the summer. Right now I'm planning on getting a job in a diabetes clinic or something, but I don't have to work all summer so I should have plenty of time to play.
As far as the next few weeks, I think I'm going to be playing the $2 180man turbos on Stars just as a way of building my roll until I can play 50NL. I can play a lot more tables than I can with cash, so its just a faster way of getting there. Hopefully I can be playing 50NL by April/May, it's just up to me to get the volume in really.
So there are my goals, hopefully I won't feel disappointed this time next year!
