Strong, bog standard Tesco Scottish blend tea, a little milk. Preferably with two chocolate (milk) digestive biscuits dunked in at the same time with the chocolate sides touching each other so that they stick together.

Can't go wrong!

I gave up tea and coffee recently-- just a little bit longer to go. It's not that hard.
Could you do it?
I was thinking of giving up chocolate, but was convinced within 30 seconds to not, well, not this week anyway.

Could I point out that fruit tea is not strictly tea, as there is not actually any tea content. This is not including teas such as Lady Grey, but covers say 'strawberry tea', which is in fact a herbal infusion. I just wanted to clear that up. And with regards to Ceylon tea, those who have seen me in my Titanic Melstadt shirt or team jacket will know that last year we were sponsored by Dilmah tea, who are the biggest tea company in Sri Lanka.
So I am a large drinker of Ceylon tea, and I spent a short time out there this summer in conjunction with Dilmah. My global tea quest continues!
And could anyone tell me where I could get a nice tea chest in St Andrews?

After a few weeks of drinking Green Tea it's now surprisingly bearable, gone is the conviction that i was drinking diluted manure.

Morrocan tea, the minty stuff, is particularly delectable as is Whittards of Chelsea's Mulled Wine tea.

But the best tea is coffee ;)

Loot (vaguely across from The Central) is full of wooden boxes that I'm sure could be used as tea chests.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! A man with taste! ;-P

Although, it's even better if the said chocolate digestives are caramel ones.....

No, normal, milk chocolate is where it's at. I find PG makes a good cuppa, nice and strong, then plenty of milk.

Milk without tea is like life without laughter. Very black indeed.

I have some single estate Darjeeling and some Assam Keyhung (again single estate) if some people want to come around for a sampling session.
I may hold a nice afternoon tea, with darjeeling, shortbread, and one of those cake stands..

I'd forgotten about Morrocan tea! I started my tea-drinking career on the stuff. It is indeed lovely, although I haven't had any in years, and hadn't realised I missed it until now

Can it be obtained in this country?

LongJing

Postby Phat Rita/Celestial Tim on Fri Mar 19, 2004 6:49 pm

Along the east coast of China, just south of Shanghai lies Hangzhou, my home town of approx a million inhabitants. Every year during march to october, a special tea plantation uses experienced tea pickers to remove the freshest and most tender 2 leaves of every tea tree BY HAND. This is the famous LongJing tea.

I only hope some of you will taste this in your lifetimes.
