That wasn't careless, we left up there on purpose so that we could let our friends that couldn't be in the team see it!

Glad you liked our fight scenes :)

So you mean you wouldn't prefer that it hadn't crashed and lost everything, which it wouldn't have had it been a windows or linux machine? Strange people.

What are you talking about?

If the programme crashes on any operating system, it crashes. Are you really saying that if it'd been on Windows or Linux all of the stuff would have been magically saved?

No I'm saying that statistically speaking, windows or linux/unix based machines crash less. I thought it was kind of obvious myself.

Nothing to do with saving and everything to do with reliability. For example, my unix based lab machine has never crashed, nor have any of my mates, and my xp pc has never crashed since it was installed. However whenever I have to use macs they have a tendency to freeze right in the middle of something - not all the time obviously but occasionally is more than on the other OS's.

To say something like "oh I lost all my work as it crashed, but at least I don't have windows" is just silly - just a pop at an operating system you don't like.

Personally I have nothing against any of the above mentioned OS's but I do think reliability when it comes to not crashing is better with unix/linux or xp.

As MacOS X is a NIX, perhaps you might like to be a touch more precise?

Not really. I was making a comment, I didn't expect anyone to be arsey about it and demand a thorough report on the matter.

I just thought it a little dumb to have a pop at an OS just because you don't like it rather than any logical reason. I am NOT going to get drawn into a pc vs mac debate because I find it highly childish. If that is what you are looking for then I suggest you find someone else because discussing macs or pcs on an internet forum is doom and leads to Very Bad Things.

Really? It leads to a comedic movie starring amongst others Cameron Diaz, Christian Slater, and Jon Favreau? (The very last scene of that movie is an absolute classic, but can only be appreciated after seeing the rest of the film).

Ah well so much for the "let's not be immature" idea. Really, how did that benefit anyone? Or are you just revelling in the old argument? Perhaps you think it's rubbish fine, but it isn't rubbish. None of them are otherwise no one would use them. It's fairly logical stuff.

One word for this kind of argumentative topic - boring. Another one - childish.

I know that it says black tie, but in my horror of being either under or overdressed, I thought I'd ask around. How formal are people planning to get? It would be especially helpful if this question is answered by other girls. Thanks.
