I just stepped on the letters!

I JUST disgraced Patrick Hamilton by stepping on his initials outside St Salvatore's Chapel!
I am so going to fail my exams now!
What do I do? I did do the May Dip recently, but I can't wait until next May to rectify the situation because my first exam is in 11 days. What are the other ways to undo the stepping on the letters curse?
(I do know that Hamilton just said that he would protect anyone who revered him, not necessarily that he'd punish those who didn't, but we have these silly myths and traditions for a reason!)

uh-oh, you're doomed. i'm immensely proud that in my 3 years here i've never stood on them. i have, however, irritated a good number of people by swerving round them and bashing people or getting in the way of other people.

Does the May Dip cleans you of such sins? I was not aware there was a "confessions"-type wiping of slate clean if you happen to commit the worst of all crimes as a St Andrean student: STEP ON THE LETTERS!!!! I have practically tripped myself up in the past trying to leap over the initials after realising at the last moment that I was about to step on them. I thought if you did, that was you screwed. I had no idea you could undo the damage with a May Dip.

Well, actually, I'm not even entirely sure if I really did stepped on them. I noticed about three steps beyond them that I hadn't swerved, but I was a little to the left a bit. It's still quite possible that I stepped over them and didn't hit any of the grey stones that form the letters.
I remember something about having to walk backwards around the Quad six times singing the Gaudie or something.

I tend to make a point of standing and/or jumping on them whenever I pass them, since I am anti-superstition. And i've never failed an exam. Yet. Famous last words?

The smartest guy I know (gets 20s in English) jumps on them on a regular basis shouting "come on, do your worst!" And he seems to be doing just fine.

Legend has it that the only way to purge ones soul of the devilry that inhabits it if one has stepped on Patrick is to walk around the end of the pier 3 times. Not 2 or 4 but 3. 3 is the number, 5 is way out.

I also heard that if you stepped on the letters that you had to walk around the pier 3 times but you also had to be singing the Gaudie and be wearing your red gown. You could try that.

I thought that the way to undo the curse was to walk three times around the lamp post at the end of the pier during a storm. I can never remember whether you were supposed to walk clockwise or anti-clockwise. Maybe you could try doing that whilst wearing your gown and singing the Gaudie - you cover all the bases that way...

Or you could just not bother with it at all, but it sounds wrong coming from someone like me, who still avoids the letters despite graduating last year...
