I'd just like to add my support for Ben (and to thank him for asking me to play- alternative male fantasy come true- cheers mate!). Mr. Hecking has done a wonderful unparalelled job in supporting every aspect of St. Andrews film scene, and I think it somewhat ungrateful to criticise (even if, for some unimaginable reason, you don't agree with him on some issues). As some of you guys may know- and those of you that don't should keep your traps firmly shut- organising a public event, especially something to the scale of imovie is an extremely stressful and difficult business. Ben is not- I repeat, is not- a professional. He is a student like you and me. Think about that before you start to criticise him.
I think everyone who helped to organise the imovie event deserves a considerable amount of praise. Congratulations to you all!!!
P.S. I hate to slag the union in this respect: but they have never put a substantial amount of effort into anything that isn't the bop. The ents crew work their hardest and do a fantastic job in context, but st. Andrews union has recently shameful been less interested in promoting its student assets so much as exploiting them. I think the tide is turning though, and the more organisations we get like the music fund will only improve a town known almost purely for golf and Yahs.
