From the undergraduate part of the registry site:

The 2003/4 resit examination diet will take place for Medical Science students only between 30 August - 2 September 2004 and for all other examinations between 8 - 11 September 2004.

The on-line registration facility will be available via your student record card on the Student Portal once your end of year examination results are available in June.

[b]The re-entry fees for 2003/4 are a flat-rate registration fee of £15.00, plus £2.00 per credit enrolled i.e registration for a 20-credit module will be £15.00 x £40.00 = £55.00[b]

You've got to be kidding?!! I have to come back here to do a 3 hour exam AND pay for it!!! I suppose it makes some sense, but still...£55.

Just a suggestion, but if you don't want to have to come back and sit the 3 hour exam or pay the £55, why don't you just do the work and pass the exam in the first place like the majority of us do?

You get the form to fill out along with your exam results when they are sent out to you.

It did used to be £1 a credit so they've effectively doubled the amount of cash they're getting out of people :/

Like I didn't regret taking my chance to defer enough already :/

Well I suppose if they want to discourage people from doing sod all for the year then that could be an effective way of doing it. Doesn't help those with personal reasons for failing I guess. Having spent my semester with some of the laziest people I've ever met I think making them pay is fair enough. Perhaps next time they might put in the effort.

my motivation atm is-well if i pass them all, that is £330 i have saved, therefore i am allowed to spend it on shoes and clothes!!!

How do you know i didn't do the work in the first place? There are just some subjects that i can't fully grasp and so getting a pass would be quite difficult (just think of a subject at school that you couldn't do. then think of my situation). In my two other modules i got 19.3 and 17 so its not a question of not doing the work.

I think its fair that you have to pay, but £55 is a bit expensive, wasnt it like only £10 for A levels. As if your not paying enough to be hear already.

Back in our day, Kibet, when all this were but just industrial estates, we did proper exams- one at the end of two years and that was that.

Now, they have a modular system, where they can do a certain number of resits.

Kids nowadays. They don't know they're born.
