This thread is for telling people what music cheers you up, not to bitch about their tastes. Just to remind some of the more retarded out there.

Rlaxing:
[li]Pink Floyd - Wot's....Uh the deal
[li]Royksopp - Sparks
[li]Steely Dan - Aja (album)

These were just a few that came up when I put my whole music dir on to a random play list. No order or anything.

That's quite good. I'm quite partial to National Express myself. Very singalongable.

Another band who make me smile at the moment are Dragonforce (if you like Stratovarius, Wong, chances are you'll be into this). They are such amazing musicians and the songs are simultaneously melodic and super fast. The new Dream Theater cd is on a lot at the moment too...

Yes, I have a couple of songs by Dragonforce. Despite the silly name they're good (once you get used to the sheer speed that they play at). I always meant to get their first album, but never found it.

otsegolectric, you're something of a hero. :)

It was by Shanice.

I used to have some songs that would cheer me up whenever I played them - "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen, "Jungle Love" by Morris Day and The Time, etc. - but none of them work any more and now I just have to stay miserable until it wears off naturally.

'Princes of the Universe' - Queen (most of their stuff really)
Except maybe Who Wants To Live Forever and a few others...

I also like to use Bohemian Rhapsody sparingly, so that when I do listen to it I can appreciate it.

I did so 'most' not 'all'. For example 'Too much love will kill you' is depressing; 'Who wants to live forever' at least makes you feel good because it believes in the existence of eternal love. Many of the songs, if not stunningly cheerful, have tunes that really liven you up.

Yeah, Princes of the Universe was on my list too - and I agree that binging on Bohemian Rhapsody can spoil it.

It is a bit overplayed, that one - it's one of the songs I find myself skipping on my playlist now.

Bitch - by Meridith Brooks

Layla - again am shamed at my terrible memory
All About the Money - Meja (dumdumdeedeedumdum)
Dizzy Up the Girl - GooGoo Dolls album, specially the songs Iris and Slide :)
Loads more but those at the mo :-)

Defiantely agree with the Goo Goo Dolls! I'm listening to that albumright now, "All eyes on me," to be exact. But "Here is Gone," from Gutterflower always makes me happy :)
