To be honest I've always found the staff friendly enough, although the younger cashiers are a bit more pleasant and cheery. Besides, if you want to observe the most unprofessional, unfriendly, downright rude and despicable staff, make your way to BESS. An awful experience is guaranteed.

As a customer, I hate it when staff try to be friendly and chatty. I just want to buy my stuff and get out, not have my life story winkled out of me. But then maybe I just hate people.

In all fairness, Tesco's staff have always been great to myself.

However, in Kwik Save, there is one particular girl who slams the shopping, the bags and the change on the counter, and has stopped me from going there. I do, in fact go to Safeways usually, because of their choice and because before 5pm parking is free compared to arsing about with fife council vouchers.

But the Tesco St Andrews crew do a hell of a job for such a busy shop, the Tescos nearest to me is a 24 hours Tescos and is never as busy, in Newtownabbey, and most of the staff there wouldn't give you the time of day.

Also, if I was in the queue behind you, and you were paying for your 70p bar of chocolate with your daddy's credit card, I personally would let you know I was unhappy.

I work for B&Q on the tills. I had someone pay for a £2500 customer order with cash the other day. I kept miscounting it as well. They've put these uv lights on the checkouts now which we're supposed to check notes and cards under to check they're genuine. No way was I gonna check £2500 in £10's and £20's though. I would have been there all night.
