this is getting ridiculous. at least i came back here tonight wasted while it was going off, but whoever thought it was "funny" to put a smoke bomd off in D block deserves death, actually, torture would be better

We should see how, outside the confines of melville, they enjoy fire.

I live in D block, and it was quite unnerving to leave your room only to see a kind of smokey haze in the stairwell! It really was an amazingly stupid thing to do though.

Geez - that wud be quite scary - especially with smoke and all...

By "randoms" do you mean other students or local kids?

There's one next to me, but it's being lived in by two refugees from D-block at the moment and I know that someone else is thinking about moving in to it after that.

Yes, that was what I meant.

I don't think Steve asserted that the culprits were from out of hall, but merely that they might have been, unless of course he was trying to imply that he knew more than he was letting on.

It wasn't a bad alarm, after all. I brought my glass of wine down with me, and later proceded to sing the Guadeamus with Ten and Steveo. Jolly good.

And I thought the Clubhouse Crew last year were bad enough...I can't believe anyone would be so stupid. Evidently I give people too much credit.

Not sure what New Hall is like nowadays but when I was there we had usually a weekly fire alarm for some quite random reasons though usually stupid things.

Shower door left open usually

prank as some ppl wished the Green Goddess to come from Dundee during the firemans strike

drunkard burning sausages as had passed out during cooking - whole corridor got fined as they couldn't def pin point the culprit (great way to bond with your neighbours)

my favourite was - hairdryering socks

in my good old DRH days we got yanked out of bed at 4AM and had to wait outside in the pissing cold for an hour after some clever fresher medics decided to celebrate the end of exams by setting fire to all the toilet paper they could find in the block... needless to say there were plenty of people who had a 9AM exam to get to that day.
