Suicidal depression amongst 'other things' killed that unfortunately. Though I'm just daft enough to try again when I get better, which I hope will be soon. But there are wounds that I have to heal first and some of them are a little too deep. So yeah, I'm hung up on her, just like I was with James, Mark and (spits) Jacq, but in a good way this time.

Took you a while to notice it though. Is the lack of sleep finally getting to you after all these years?
Good to hear that you're with someone at the moment. That just leaves Matt and I as the only two single people in the Scooby gang, as bloody usual. Shame he's straight... lol. Oh, and Quaig and Sairy are planning on comming up soon.

[hr]I cried and I cried,
Just to make things right.
Have i lost the fight?
Where were you last night?
Black is my mind when a new day has come
Black are the tears when I cry
Come here and take my hand, join this misery
The fallen angel will set us free

Maybe I am daft enought to believe that there is hope in something. Perhaps, with all thats gone on in my life, thats the only thing I've ever had. Its that hope that stops me from going too far. So yeah, I'm 'daft' but I'm also alive.

And Jacq, I wouldn't spit on her if she were on fire.

you obviously didnt stay to the end...after the talks and shit...which are realy more of an excuse for those of us with a warped sense of humour to rip the piss, we move to the byre and the drinking begins...we kinda take over the place which is cool.
once you get to know ppl its fun. you were right bout it being mostly guys...a fact i bemoaned myself. i actually found my gf though a msg on the sinner like this. the lgbt, (for us girls anyways) is NOT a meat market. but the guys are gd to know.
And anytime they have something like the lgbt xmas party, the second free bar is mentioned you will be amazed at the number of gay/bi/bicurious will turn up.

It really shouldn't be for the guys either. Unfortunately, you do get some of them who use it that way. It's generally frowned upon though. The society is meant to be a welcoming, non-threatening society for LGBT and friends to be sociable and friendly and it also offers support if necessary.

The problem is that this "meat market" attitude really sticks in SOME peoples' minds. That's why a lot of people get scared off after one meeting, or a lot of people never come at all. As a committee we're really doing our best to combat this image, but some people seem to decide that that's what the LGBT is without actually looking at what we're trying to do with it.

So, the more people that come along and don't treat it like a meat market, the better.

There does seem to be a lack on non lgbt gay events. I find it really hard to meet guys here and it would be good meet a couple of folk. For such an apparently large gay population in st andrews, i do find it rediculously hard to meet guys. However, i don't really want to go to lgbt and the bop is not really the best way to get speaking to someone. I've only come out in the past year or so and i'm still waiting to spread my wings and have a bit of fun.

Why not?

1) It seems a tad intimidating
2) Its not really something that i think would interest me. speeches??? on what?!
3) From what i've heard i don't think it's really my lind of place.

I mean absolutly no offence at all to anyone, i'm positive that many people must really enjoy it but i just don't think its my thing. I no thats a bit closed minded since i've never been but....
Its not really the way i like to meet people.

Speeches? What speeches? I think you seem to be judging it on hearsay and rumour. It's just a student society like any other, and thus predominantly a social event. I mean isn't that what you were asking for? Social events with other gay people? If you dont' want to come to the events themselves (which range from welfare talks to cinema trips to games nights, etc etc) then we are pretty much always in the Byre from 10 every monday night.

I can't force you of course, but I want you to consider that you're being very closed minded about the society, and it might actually be just what you're looking for!

However, lgbt still does have quite a large taboo surrounding it. Its something you are labelled for so make sure you are sure.
