Googling

Postby bramble on Wed Mar 09, 2005 8:34 pm

What do you get when you google yourself? When i google my sinner name i come up with lots of pie recipes and a wrestlers website (!)
When i googled my real name it said i'd had a lesbian marriage in Georgia last year...that i am a professor at around 10 different universities in the same amount of subjects and that i am a famous horse rider (considering i actually ride this one scared me somewhat!)
Edited for formatting and atrocious spelling

When I google my full name i get a Doctor at the university of glasgow.

When i google my sinner name i get the sinner, an old cs clan forum where i posted and i come up on tubular.net as well.

I was hoping for somehting a bit more exciting like:

WELCOME TO THE PAGE WHICH GIVES OUT MONEY TO PEOPLE CALLED DOUGLAS

or maybe finding someone famous with my name.

No such luck.

Surprisingly enough, not a lot. Just some links to various forums; including The Sinner of course.

I've won the Northumberland County Bandminton tournament; I'm a proffesor in Performing Arts, and I've written a Harry Potter fanfiction (rated with 4 stars out of 5, not bad).

All kinds of technical stuff with "md25" in the name, a retarded website I used to care about and my page on lastfm, which is strange as I have never been there, although it looks exactly like Audioscrobbler and I have solved a mystery.

I am the only Caroline Kuchmeister on teh internet - funnily enough. But there's a Herman Kuchmeister who was an American Kuchmeister War hero, a Michael Kuchmeister who was the leader of the teutonic knights in the middle ages and a Linda Kuchmeister who seems to win a lot of swimming competetions.
My Sinner name just brings up information on Native Americans on Pender Island,BC
"I have seen flowers come in stony places
And kind things done by men with ugly faces,
And the gold cup won by the worst horse at the races,
So I trust, too."

I'm also a Professor at Heriot Watt Uni (in my actual degree subject). Sadly he doesn't have the same middle initial as me so I can't claim to have published any papers just yet.

I tried thinking of an innovative witty remark, but could only come up with this...

Real name, I get lawyers, an actress in Mack the Knife (feel free to guess which one, it shouldn't be too hard - just keep it to yourself), lawyers, a new zealander etc etc.
Sinner name, it's all "Grrrrrr" quotes/animal noises and stuff like that.

as far as i can tell there is only one other man in the world with my name. i've been trying to get in touch with him, but i've been having a few problems.

He works in Florida at university and has published a report on the dangers of mobile phone use for drivers.

I'm "an impressive enobarbus", so you can't wish for more than that, really.

I used to be editor of Loaded.

But press "I'm feeling lucky" under my full name, and you get my heart-breaking story of when I was sexually abused as a child.

I'm researching alternative energies in the Rockies, the inventor of a wicked awesome card game called Jambo (that's actually true), an 80s and disco DJ, a reporter in San Francisco, and, my favourite, a philosopher with insights like "All generalizations are false, including this one", "To understand is to forgive, even oneself", and "People, like sheep, tend to follow a leader - occasionally in the right direction."

One at a time please, ladies...

Edit: favourity?
