Sorry, but i have no idea is it a bank holiday on monday. This will determine whether i need to slave away through the night writing my essay...so would very much appreciate the help of you more knowledgeable people. Thanks!

I believe that monday is a public holiday. But if I were you I wouldn't risk it and do the essay anyway, just in case. If it is a bank holiday, then you'll be able to spend monday sleeping.

However if you guess that it is a holiday and don't do it and it turns out you could've handed it in on monday, then you'll be screwed and lose some marks.

My understanding is that the uni is open as normal. The admissions dept, cash office, resbus and some of the schools are def open.

I know people who have philos essays due in at 5 today so that dept is def open.

Hope you got ure essay done!

I'm not convinced today is a holiday in Scotland...at least, according to my diary, it's not. And the bloody gas men are merrily drilling away right outside my flat, grrr.

And I think the school offices are open, since my supervisor promised to leave something with the secretary for me.

Well...I got it half way done by this morning, fell asleep and woke up a while ago...

There is just NO way i'll be able to complete it on time for 5. Mind you, the office doesn't answer the phone, but still, if they're open this counts as the 10th late day and it wont get graded tomorrow anymore.

Good bye honours entry! This just kills the motivation to even try :'( I'm usually a hardworking student, this essay is just a combination of random disasters. Do you guys know is there any grounds to appeal for honours entry if my marks are well above 11 outside this lousy essay? Or should i just forget it and pack my bags?

Thanks for the posts.

Maybe you should just try to hand in what you've done - work flat out for the next couple of hours and make as good a job as possible. Even if it only gets somewhere around 5-7, it's still better than a 1, and perhaps with the average of your next essay and the exam for the module, you might still make your 11. I mean if you only get a 5 for this essay, you could get 15 for the next one, and still get a 10 average for coursework.
