Hmm - Lonely Pilgrim, exnihilo, Eliot Wilson, David Bean, and Miz Manda for being reasoned and at times very illuminating in their postings. Zombie Sheep and Kate Bush for their passion, in terms of not being afraid to say what they think.

I have just returned from a lunch-break stroll to the Tate Modern. Along the way I saw a troupe of St Andrews sweatshirt-wearing gents making their way in the same direction. I could well be wrong but I assume that the small chap proudly wearing “Midget” on his back is the eponymous sinner-poster. He has earned my respect by not shying away from stating the bloody obvious. Hope you enjoyed the trip lads (and Turner Whistler Monet is at the other Tate, by the way).

A lot of the usuals - all the sort of top ten memorable characters, all the admin multiple personalities and lonely pilgrim, because he hasn't been around long, but has contributed quality as well as quantity.

Humphrey is probably the poster who makes me laugh the most on the sinner, so he's worth a mention as well

There are others I'm sure but they just aren't springing to mind

Wow, if a stranger on an internet bulletin board can respect me then maybe one day my family, friends and fiance will, then again probably not.

I know this will be controversial, but I respect Paul for his persistence, and as far as who I think I could have the most intelligent discussion with, I'd go for exnihillo and LonelyPilgrim (though I know them both IRL). Rob Hearn is usually good, (Alex) Rennie used to make some very good posts in the past though I haven't seen him around much lately, and bramble and johness make a great comic pair. Thanks to those who've cited me, though.

Hahahahaha, to the unregistered user who saw me in London, very amusing, yes i have two hoodies with my nickname on the back, I get called it a lot outside of the sinner. Very random trip to London left at 1.30am on Tues when two mates came round saying they wanted to go to London, we didn't take anything with us, drove all night. Tate, various sites, and then dinner in China town and then back to St Andrews. It was raining hard and we got a puncture halfway up the M1 at 5am this morning, the lorries going past a few meters away drenched us, it was horrible, but all in all a pretty fun & cheap trip consideering it was London.

Am going back to London with my parents later this year, so will get to see Turner Whistler Monet.

Respect to Humphrey, KateBush, exnihilo, Marco Biagi, and various other sinners, many of whom make more sense on the sinner than in real life. (although Humphrey is funny in real life).

humphrey IS funny in real life.. especially to look at... quietly study and mock... not unlike his academic son! hahahaha..

I can't believe you went to London without teling me midget! (M1 is never worth it to get to St.A either!)

On the topic of who I respect on here... definitely Eliot Wilson and exnihilo... and various others..

Thanks to all the lovely people who said they respected me :-)

You've really cheered me up! I don't think you all know how much it means to still be in people's thoughts at the moment!

You may or may not know, but I've been really ill again, and was in Ninewells for three weeks with cardiologists. It turns out I have this really rare condition causing me to faint--basically my pulse jumps up by 70-90 beats the second I stand up on a bad day, and it causes lots of other problems too (only 6 other people in Scotland have it! When I said rare, I meant rare! But if anyone's going to have a bizarre condition, who else would it be? A bizarre condition for a bizarre woman!) They sent me out of hospital in a wheelchair, with betablockers and told me there's no cure. I refuse to accept this and I'm now trying to see the only cardiologist in the country who specialises in fainting--she's in Newcastle so it's a bloody long way from here....but I'm determined to get my life back to what it was before all this happened.

I've had to leave St Andrews for now and come back home to Bristol to get better, which I'm not too happy about- I love St Andrews. At least I'll graduate in June though! I'm planning fo the future and trying to look forward to Oxford in the autumn- if I get funded, I'll be able to go and do a masters in Medieval English :-)

I'm so glad we have the Sinner- it makes me feel part of St Andrews even though I'm this far away. You know I never used to like the Sinner--I remember when it used to just be called The Bitchboards, but I got into it two years ago in my third year, and I love the fact that we can share opinions and ideas and get blethering. I've been really impressed with the way the Sinner can make things happen, too...remember with the rent protests last year? It was largely through the Sinner that that moved off the ground.
I always thought that message boards were for geeks who didn't have a life...how wrong I was. I've met some awesome people thrugh the Sinner, and I'm so glad that I ventured onto these boards.

It's not easy being at home-I feel really cut off, as St Andrews has been my life blood for the past five years.
I miss it terribly. It's a fabulous place with awesome people. But knowing that some of those awesome people who I've met and spoken to during my time there still think about me even though I'm not about makes me feel that I do matter.

In terms of who I respect on the Sinner, it would have to be, first and foremost, Manic23 (who is now my beloved academic son!) followed very closely by Harmless Loony, Midget, Prophet Ten and Steveo. There are loads of others whose names I can't think of now, my head's too fuzzy today!

But in short (sorry, I really am SO lightheaded, I'm sure I've typed a big load of bollocks just now, but then some might say, What's new?!) I just wanted to say THANKS and you lot have really cheered me up:-)
