No, I posted on a couple of threads on The Sinner about the Conservative Party, the general election and the impending leadership contest. That, quite obviously, is a rather different kettle of fish from deciding the running order for stories on one of the main terrestrial TV news broadcasts.

Death: "Don't patronise me."

I think Timson's point was that nobody said 'Oh do be quiet' when you were prattling on (delightfully though, be assured) about politics.

I got bored when everyone was going on about Princess Diana's death. And you know what, they are STILL GOING ON ABOUT IT. Motherfuckers. At least this Malcolm Glazier crap is going to die down in a few weeks. I hate Paul Burrell.

And my point is that the two situations are not analogous. My posts on The Sinner are not the BBC's news agenda.

Spectacularly difficult.

Even the University can't really be sure.
When I started here, the only date that was ruled out as the official date of the founding was 1413.

Even the University homepage was undecided for a while - the visible text said 1411, while the META tags said 1410.

I think they've finally agreed on 1412.

Up to US$20k to study here?!

I think I've spent less than that since sixth year at secondary school!

I agree with Eliot, we have far too much sport on TV and in Newspapers, it doesn't need to take over the real news too. We have sports news for people who are interested.

I just thought it was great PR when they announced Glazer had 74.85% or whatever it was of shares at the close of business last Friday...clearly milking all the media for what he could get before suddenly cutting a deal to get that final .15%

As for it being a news-worthy story, I think it has interest for business analysts as well to be honest, its dumbfounding everyone as to why they guy paid £3 per share for what was worth only £2 or £2.20, so its not all about Football
