I fail to see what influence a non-existent town council could have on whether or not St Andrews gets a rail link.

The demolition of New Hall.
More clothes shops.
Cheaper drink.
Better town-gown relations.

Will do! But I'm thinking of one on a grander scale....ROFL. However, St Andrews also needs:

An Elven High Mage
A bigger Subway
The removal of starbucks and the immediate extension of Beanscene
Hovercraft
A bigger Ottakars
A dedicated Anime shop
A statue of Telinar....

WARNING: I may harbour delusions of grandeur.... :)

Crazy Golf, can't believe there isn't one already! Though to be fair half of the stuff would be nicked in the first week by drunken students :)

We need midnight paintball on the Old Course. We could also use an underground moving sidewalk from DRA to Tesco.

Nightclub?
something else?

If you were on the Council and could approve any one project, what would it be?

Yes.

i still think an honest-to-god coffee house would be fantastic. Not a coffee shop, like starbucks etc. Something more like whatchamacallit, the one near the movie theater.

or, an all night diner. how cool would that be.

At the driving range, isn't there a putting green? I know that for serious golfers, but you could make it a crazy golf by putting your own obstacles there.

St Andrews: make your own fun.

I do think that a lot of local people would think that it ruins the image of the town-- too kitch, ya know?-- but I think the tourists would love it, something for the young ones to do for the afternoon instead of driving their parents mad.

I like the idea-- but where to put it?

How about the Coffee House? It's on Greyfriars Gardens, and it serves a great variety of teas and coffees.
