Words that make you cringe

'V' - as in the shortened form of versus. Really annoys me. 'Vs.' is the abbreviation, not 'v'. There is no need to shorten it further.

It annoys me more spoken than written. There's just no need for it. Versus is not a long word. Though 'oh-my-god-latin!' its meaning is entirely clear from the context, whereas 'v' - what is that short for? Versus, bringing you back to where you were. Just stick with versus from the very beginning.

*snarls*

General Melchett: Security isn't a dirty word, Blackadder. Crevice is a dirty word, but security isn't.

He he, these are great!!

I hate the word pants as well, especially when people refer to something as being pants, that makes me want to rip my own head off.

And yeah, the words shag and snog are quite horrible, "fancy a shag luv?" Eeewwwwwwww, yuk.

*issues* as in "I have..."

*sensitive* as in "He is very sensitive, you'd better not say..."

*graduation* Just don't mention this word ever to be I will curl up in a ball, ditto *job* *future plans*.

Also *no* there is absolutely no need for this word, I don't use it, neither should anyone else.

I don't like it when people say, or type "sup", any definition of the word I have found means either an abbreviation for various words such as superior, or to eat or drink something by taking small mouthfuls. It shoudl not be a contraction for "What is up"!

I really hate the word 'pony'.

I have a tendancy to shudder whenever that word is uttered. Especially in an American accent. Just typing it is hard to do...

If you have seen the film 'In & Out' with Kevin Kline, you may (or may not) understand.

Route or router - when pronounced "rowt(er)" rather than "root(er)", both a rout (rowt) and a router (rowter) are real things and distinct from a root, a route (root) or a router (rooter).
