Noone has mentioned any of the older singers, the real vocal legends such as Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, Steven Tyler etc.

Robert Plant is a shit singer

Agreed, Led Zepplin were atrocious, and Ozzy sounds like a mongoose with throat cancer.

Billy Idol, goddammit! I love the deep voice with growliness / snarliness.

I love Claudio Sanchez's voice - even if Zak says he sounds like a mincing woman!

And speaking of one I wank over the mostest, Ann and I were both very... tingly at Reel Big Fish.

Claudio, fuck yeah! I was going to say him but didn't want to be called gay! He's awsome, sounds like Geddy Lee but cooler.

Have to agree with Tarja, she's one of the few women in rock that manage to sound like a woman yet also not be wimpy. Christina Scabbia manages it pretty well too :) Oh, and Shirley Manson is just...*sigh*

Boy-wise, Dani Filth's voice will always send shivers down my spine. I also like Matt Skiba's voice - it's very comfortable - and Cristian Machado's.

Agree with other people on John K (amazing range) and Devin Townsend.

Non-rock-wise, Emiliana Torrini has a very sexy voice, as does *ahem* John Travolta. Danny Elfman is also awesome. Maybe I'm a tad biased because he sang Jack's part in NBC though...

I have to say, I'm not really a Led Zep fan at all, but Plant's voice on Kashmir is just perfect. Maybe that's just because it fits the song really well...

Ozzy, again not the most technical singer in the world, and his more recent stuff in his old age is disappointing (for vocal quality anyway), however, some of his stuff with Sabbath is excellent in my eyes. Robert Plant - not necessarily the greatest again, but so influential, you can't deny that - I am a not a huge LZ fan either, but I cant deny that he counts.

Hetfield. Loverman... you just would.
And I have certain stirrings when I hear Nick Cave's voice.
Also really like the vocal stylings of Brody Dalle, Amanda Palmer and Karen O.

Bowie.

And Brodie Dalle rocks.

I lost ALLLL respect for Ozzy and for Kelly after that FUCKING "Changes" song. It really does make me want to stick my fingers DEEP in my eye sockets and stir my brain
