I think it needs to be said that the sinner is only posted on by a very small minority of the st Andrews population, and that this is mostly because people are put off by feeling that what ever they say they will be proclaimed a twat, or a hack or whatever, and can't voice their own opinions without being insulted and humiliated. The fact that people also imply that posts do not count for anything unless you post regularly is also going to put people off. Why on earth would new people want to be involved? Get your acts together guys.

The Sinner is a messageboard on the internet.

Profuse apologies for pointing out the obvious, but if you have even the slightest aquaintance with the internet you should realise by now that niceties and decorum are not in its faceless nature.

The Sinner is primarily a procrastination tool, and therefore home to a few rankled people.

Grow a thicker skin and realise that comments can be attacked, ignored, and applauded for no particular reason, that's part of The Sinner's charm.

Also, sarcasm translates very badly indeed (I keep getting my knickers in an unnecessary twist through misunderstanding the humour intended in a post).
