So, what I was wondering; does the number really matter? Even when it's that high, and she's presumably been faithful to him the whole time? Is 112 really terrible when you're as old as 27/28 or whatever?

you're right to say that if it bothers you now it'll bother you later - it's a planted seed and it can only grow...

...and it sounds like she might 'like it' quite a bit - my friends are all sitting here and I've asked them what they think, and it sounds as though 112 might be quite a lot, by average standards.

However, if you think she's simply been lucky to get good looks and the ability to get a lot of it about whilst she's young, then so what? The real question you have to ask yourself is is she gonna do this later?

I guess much like everything in life it depends on the situation and what happens between two people is their's not anyone else's. I'm sure they're the people who know best about what's going on between them.

the number shouldn't matter. The only issue I could think of was health, but that's obviously not a problem in this case. Got to ask though - if it was the guy who'd slept with 112 people, would you still call him a whore?

So - people sleep around - you're young, you're fancy-free and you want some fun. If the number is that high then it's reasonably safe to assume that the lady in question doesn't see sex as something that comes as part of a stable relationship and it's very unlikely to be a barrier in her mind.

I'd say that if the two people feel that in love then roll with it, but our man here has to be sure that she feels the same way.

He should take solace in the fact that she told him the actual number rather than taking the tried and tested ladylike option of presenting yourself as unsullied a specimen as you can manage.

If she has remained faithful to him then I don't see the problem at all, the number of people you sleep with prior to marriage doesn't seem to have a direct correlation to whether you will commit adultery or not. If anything, maybe she's got something out of her system...and I sound like a Victorian gent.

The important thing is for him to have a long talk with her about how important promiscuity actually is to her life. It's a drug, sex; is she definitely going to be happy settling down with one person only? Or would he consider a more open marriage? For someone like me, monogamous commitment is anathema; there are people who only realise they feel like that once they've tried to settle down.

The number is irrelevant; as with everyone, it's just essential to talk seriously about sexual needs and attitudes to commitment before making any big steps.

Marriage is a big thing and surely if he really knew her he'd have already known how many people she has slept with. My boyfriend knows everything about me. Plus if you really knew your partner THAT well, you'd know if he/she is likely to say yes. Maybe this guy should wait a little and get to know her a bit better. What's the rush?
