You could get a beer in under a minute from the beer only bars
Quoting Bonnie from 17:11, 7th May 2006Oh how I laughed.
Anyone else feel like correcting this poor soul?

I love cheese.

...now that is very interesting stuff.
On to the rest of it. Why do you people always feel the need to tear the KK down? I am thoroughly convinced that if the May Ball weren't thrown by the KK, at least these days when there's so much anti-KK sentiment in this town, the ball would sell out every single year.
Of all the clubs to pick on, they're probably the worst for your case... aside from the all-male thing (which is their right to do) their events are fun, they don't have a political agenda, and they don't bother anyone.
But back to Bonnie's point, which was "correcting the poor soul" about the price of the ball...
1) A "May Ball" is the staple of any major university. They run it. If they didn't, who would? The Union? Oh, that would be super... who was it Bonnie? Javine? If we really tried, maybe we could get Chesney Hawkes again.
2) Stop whining about the price, too: when you all grow up, if you should be invited to charity events, you pay a large sum up-front (£70 is a pittance) and the same thing happens... they feed you, keep you drunk, and give you entertainment. It's a good format that works and prevents people from losing their wallets.
3) You are tearing down an organisation that actually DOES do charity work, Ryder, so I suggest you keep your trap shut before you end up on the libel train. When that thing comes to town, it doesn't make any stops.
What does some of this work entail?
They...
...keep the costumes for the Kate Kennedy Procession, which is a hugely popular event that helps to inform people of the history of this great little town
...clean up after Raisin Monday
...give money to local charities... really, ask them.
...throw good, no, SUPERB events. The ones you threw while you were a Union officer--- let's see. A bop, a two-week radio station... and Javine. Javine vs. GLC, FLC, Groove Armada...

Wow and you wonder why people don't like the KK...
I'm actually shocked (for once).
They may be excellent Wardrobe-watchers and great at dialing numbers to book an event, but they still can't tell the difference between a union officer and a sabbatical. Oh dear.
And I've never enjoyed a KK event, cos they are full of wankers like you.

For a first year, you've a very big (metaphorical) mouth. How about you post shit like this (and of course, the other inflammatory crap you troll other threads with) in 2 years or so, when your opinion might, might mean something?

Wow my opinion means nothing cos i am a first year...impressive.
Quoting Thalia from 00:58, 10th May 2006
I don't quite understand how you can not enjoy an event run by the KK just because you think they're wankers. I mean, it's not like they ran around the ball and acted like twats with everyone they met just to ruin the night for them
I suddenly have a rather random image of KK members popping up behind people and shouting random insults at them - now that would make for a weird ball

It's more what the KK stand for than who they are as individuals that pisses me off - especailly when they think they are the Gods of st.andrews.
