I recall a young lady popping into an SRC several years ago seeking to get affiliation (I think?) or to have the SRC petition the University to let the Pagan Soc into the Mansefield. They were soundly shot down, and rightfully so. We laughed at her then. However, with the support of David Bean, this year the psychotic gimp pagans got their way. They got their space and can now book a building that is normally used by societies that serve a purpose--- Christians, Moslems, LGBT, you name it. They do things to make the world a better place.

I'm trying to figure out who you are because I was on the SRC then and you have certainly created a fantasy account.

There weren't any laughers, and indeed the SRC decided to help where it could. The SRC not having any authority over the use of Mansefield, it wasn't the SRC's place to grant permission. All it could do was write a letter to Jamie Walker stating that the SRC did not agree with the Chaplain's decision. The SRC and SSC do have a say in who can use the Association Building, though, and decided not to start a new project involving Mansefield using the Association's facilities (which wasn't of any importance in the least bit.)

What you might be thinking of, and not fully understanding, is the difference between that incident and the closely related one of Marco Biagi being in charge of writing that letter, making it what was later deemed as rude and inappropriate.

I'm not one to not support the University societies: Pagan, Tunnock's, Jewish, whathaveyou.

It seems preposterous to me that people get all heated up over Pagans being allowed in Mansefield when other religions not based on Yahweh/God/Allah have been using University buildings for some time now. It's ignorance and I'm not one to suffer fools either.

I say burn the stupid.

To be honest with you Bonnie, sarcasm isnt always helpful in such matters.

Everybody has a different opinion of everyone, a religion or even a belief, and if some people think Pagans are dirty, then thats up to them.

A stereotypical view of a Muslim isnt that possitive, and just because all the Pagans in this university seem to think they are something special, there not.

Everyone and every belief is equal, yet I think its the fact that the Pagans think there doing something 'new' and they are ace seems to piss people off.
