Pea has great taste in music. I personally don't like Robbie because I am a staunch Gary fangirl. LOL.

And besides, I have gone "urgh" to people's music tastes, but usually in jest. The only thing GUARANTEED to make me lost respect is possession of "Lady In Red".

Anyway, trying to be a Robbie hater doesn't work, some of his songs are too damn catchy :)

According to your last FM James Blunt is your 4th most-listened-to artist. Ergo, you aren't allowed to have any opinions about music and you can consider your comments on this thread to be null and void.

Dude, did you ever consider not being a complete and utter prick? You know just something new and different you might like to try.

Check the date of when I was last on.

And 4th equal with Motley Crue. And WAAAY behind Maiden.

I like James Blunt. He helped me through my miserable phase.

To be honest, I'm really not blaming anyone for their music taste. They can like whatever they want, and I can't claim to not listen to some cheesy pop music from time to time.

I do blame the big record producers who keep pumping out really bland supermarket rock, that all sounds the same. Do we really need the James Blunts, Paolo Nuttinis, Katie Meluas and James Morrisons of this world? It just seems a shame when there are so many really talented original artists who only get interest from smaller indie labels, and most people never hear of.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I offended anyone on this thread. I didn't mean to.

Like we've seen already, it all depends on what people like. It seems for the most part people are happy with these so-called lesser artists, because their music is something they respond to - a music to suit everyone's feelings. However, smaller artists who make what people call more original music are failed by their very creation - it's far too personal for most people to take on and fit into their lives. That's why bland, bubblegum pop is always pushed more than more indie bands - because it's where the money is, because it's where people want to spend their money.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I offended anyone on this thread. I didn't mean to.

No one ever really means to offend. Oh well.

Actually, there is one thing worse than "bland bubblegum pop", it's called the Kaiser Chiefs.

And people should stop trying to defend James Blunt, you're always going to lose, every time.

Blimey Bryn, that was a bit sharp- 'you're not a kid anymore'!!! I first listened to the Sensual World fourteen years ago, and I have listened to it pretty much daily/weekly since then- I'm not a kid anymore, but I'll always love Kate Bush (though I thought her latest album ha very little to offer.) Sorry for digression, folks- me and Bryn are big KAte Bush fans (hence my username!)

I haven't heard Rudebox yet but I'd like to. I LOVE Robbie's music and I think he's fab too. :)

I hate the snobbery of music and especially people who only like one type of music. I actually like a few of robbies songs, such as Strong and man machine. I also like soul, funk , some metal, {sabbath} and jaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Although James Blunt is a cunt.
