May Dip

Ok..so am hoping someone can enlighten me to when May Dip is. I thought it was May 1 but others are telling me it is May 7, i.e Bank Holiday Monday.

May 1st. Sunrise is at 5:27:00 this year. The best fun is to be had about 1/2 an hour beforehand, though, so turn up about 4:30-5:00ish.

It is always May 1st, that is the traditional day for it.

Sunrise is at 5:26:40 according to Whitakers Almanack, and if my sums are right, Low Tide's expected for about 4:40 (that's interpolating the data for Anstruther and Dundee), so there should be a bit of beach available.

Yes, and you also have to consider the fact that its comparatively (against what it was if you were been waiting in the dark all night) light about 2 hours before sunrise.

This may have to be the first time in 5 years I haven't done the may dip
