Possibly because the manufacturers are comfortable with the fact that it is within man's instinct to eat meat, and not being guilt ridden or intimidated by the extremist elements of animal rights nutters out there. A fine day for industry, if you ask me.

Funky flunky munky...
So someone asked me "What is it you do?". I thought about it for a minute. Then I thought about it a little more. All the while I probably looked like I was staring in to space, struggling for an answer. And I was. There was only one response I could really give.

"I make sure the shit stays off the fan."

I guess it depends on how strict of a veggie you are. I'm sure there are lots more things like those listed that you eat and don't know about.

Unless you are making everything from scratch it's unlikely you'll be able to avoid everything.

I guess you could have your memory erased and then you'd be blissfully ignorant. The easiest way would be Traumatic Amnesia...

Apparently, three out of every four people make up 75% of the population. Amazing...

In the words of Gordon Ramsey, "vegetarians are a dying breed."

What with a more ethical way to eat meat nowadays, (organic, free range ect)thier are more people moving over to the carnivorous side of life. The healthier better life if you ask me.

That's not a balanced and healthy diet now, is it?

Nonsense. Total nonsense. You would be closer to the truth if you wrote that hunger is within man's instincts. We're not cavemen any more.

And, do tell, what reason do you think this is?

"It is a common fallacy to describe canine teeth as being the hallmark of a carnivorous diet - the teeth associated with carnivory are the carnassial teeth."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_tooth

Carnassial teeth are not found in humans. Human canine teeth, on the other hand, are short and blunt - well suited to a herbivorous diet.

This thread is reminding me of that well-known phrase "You are what you eat." Anyone had any rump steak lately?

Your referencing there says it all. Wikipedia- written by morons for vegetarians.
And the steak thing? Hello? Flesh? Bones? Arteries? No I guess you don't have that, you perfectly formed celery stick.

Please, 'trouble', prove that it is incorrect before adding to the above drivel.

No I'm not going to prove that it is incorrect, as I don't reeeeally care to be honest. I was merely pointing out that wikipedia is NOT a reliable resource. But the steak thing still stands.

You don't want to substantiate the first half of your post. Therefore it offers no challenge to what I have said. And then the rump steak thing. That was a light aside at the end of a post, so what point are you trying to make? Did you take it seriously? If so, are you trying to convince me that eating arteries does actually give you arteries?

I don't want to substantiate my post as I have better things to do with my time- like revise. As I have already said, wikipedia is not reliable. Bring me a medical/dental journal that carries the same point, and you might have some credibility. And there's no need to twist my words- but yes, indirectly, eating arteries can give you arteries. Just chill the fuck out.

Regardless of the whole issue of canine teeth, the fact remains that eating meat is healthy and awesome.

They've probably taken that into account, and the money they save by using these new ingredients is likely to be more than what they'll lose by alienating the vegetarians/vegans/etc.
