Does anyone know where can I find a decent dentist in StA or locally? Thanks.

Don't know if it is decent or not, but isn't there the NHS dental clinic opposite the Old Union Reception on North Street?

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

I'd reccomend the dental hospital in Dundee. I had really bad tootache and finally went there instead of trying to get an emergency appointment in Fife, which I'd been trying to do for ages, and got seen and fixed up in the space of an hour.
If you get the bus to Dundee and get off by the Overgate it's not far at all. It's much, much easier than getting an appointment in St Andrews.

I go to the dentist across from the union. It's private so I have to pay for treatment but I have been impressed with their service.

DO NOT GO TO THE DENTAL HOSPITAL.

One person has a good time, great. I, along with many others, have had work done and it has been followed by months, nay, years of problems. Kirkaldy Dental Hospital I have heard good things about, for example, they don't allow 2nd year students to do treatment unattended, or send patients home with a fractured jaw and heavily sedated, without any after care or followup.

I had an emergency root canal at the dental hospital in Dundee and it was fine so no worries there.

I then went to the private dentists behind the Grillhouse (opposite the Union) and they are excellent. As someone said you have to pay for the treatment but it's definitely worth it. I'd travel up there just for treatment if I ever had tooth issues when I was at home.

Never go there! I went once due to bad toothache and got told I had abnormal roots (my dentist at home thinks they are making this up) and it would have been far less painful letting my flatmate do it with a hammer!

I had to have a tooth taken out recently. I got it done at Kirkaldy Dental Access Centre, which was fine, though getting there was a hassle. I really had to chivy them to get them to make my second and third appointments though; they were really rubbish at returning my calls.

The NHS dentist in St. Andrews will only allow you to register if you are over 60, which is less than entirely conveninent for our purposes.

I found Inchcape (behind the Grill House on St Mary's Place) to be good, and significantly cheaper than other places. For example, their first checkup when enrolling as a new patient was £35, whilst others went up to £75 and £100+ (because they screened for "mouth cancer" and other stuff...)

The filling Inchcape did seemed quite professionally done, as one would hope.
