Hey St Andrews, i found something for you to do on Tuesday 30th:
Rally outside the library at 12 noon, against self-imposed austerity, gentrification and the coalition's cuts.
We will have a short General Assembly to decide the direction that the rest of the day takes, as well as some important themes of an anticuts campaign.
Cuts have not even been announced yet, and still the management of this University have so internalised market ideology that they tried to make redundant four members of staff. They also claim to want to exclude poorer students from applying, effectively increasing the class divide that already separates St Andrews from the majority of the world. All fo this is happening to the backdrop of Management occupying the Art History department, forcing them to relocate, and refurbishing at great cost to the staff and students of this university.
Whether you're a worker, claimant or student the coming cuts are going to hurt us all. Demand staff and student consultation on any future cuts or fee increases!
