Huh. I would appreciate food I'm physically able to digest thanks.

Oli, you appear to be a gentleman of a host already! (And after the compliment, can I have veggie food without peppers or chillis please?)

I'll try and make it, but no promises/threats.
I too am vegetarian, so that's another one to add to the list.

And I suppose that a few of you would like me to bring Sarah (the barmaid from TPs) and Lilies with me, wouldn't you?

Yes of course, LSQ.

And yes of course PilmourChap. But only if they want to come.
I haven't seen Lilies for ages and it would be great if she can make it.

I'll do my best to sort out some sort of transport arrangements (with car people's help of course), and will post full details (that can then be discussed and modified if necessary) here later on. Perhaps even tonight.

Oooh - and what about a firework?
I have a firework left over from new year. Just a small one, but it should grab people's attention...

I stand by my idea of Sinner awards. Well, not really it was a flippant idea. There was something else I was going to say... No, it's gone.

I'm not sure about the idea of awards...

Perhaps might encourage too much back slapping (or mud slinging), and might make us seem somewhat cliquey, which I don't think is a good thing...

And what about the people who will be coming who aren't regular Sinners. They might feel left out...

Just starting work on the proposal for the night. More later

I'll probably bring some vodka, some rashers of hedgehog, and some badger chops.

Whatever you two do in your spare time is not of any concern to me.

But I don't think there's any need to bring it to the barbecue.

The "staples" such as paper plates and ketchup will be provided in both plans. Plastic cups (the mainstay of any outdoor events) will be available in abundance.

I'll also try to organise some kind of music - people are more than welcome to bring guitars and any portable instruments. My didgeridoo will be there...

If we can sort out some kind of transport arrangements (pick up point outside the union for example) then that should make life easier for those without a car.

Potential plan A:

*Saturday Morning - bunch of people ("minions") arrive to help build bonfire and erect barbecue.
*Lunchtime (12ish) - Lunch
*4ish - barbecue lit and people (guests, not minions) arrive with booze and some money - probably a fiver (maybe less for veggies, as meat is more expensive).
*5ish - cooking and eating (and of course drinking)
*8ish - head off to the bonfire with marshmallows and hipflasks (or carrier bags with cans in)
*Later - back to the house for a nightcap.

Possible choice of menu:
[l][li]Chicken drumsticks marinaded in yoghurt and bright red spicy stuff
[li]Burgers
[li]Sausages
[li]Pork chops in cider
[li]Vegetable kebabs
[li]Salad selection
[li]Lamb or beef kebabs
[li]Burger buns and rolls
[/l]

Potential plan B:

Same as above, but with people bringing their own food.

That sounds wrong. just wrong. ah, I may come, i've been a hanquering to make some vodka jelly. but really thick stuff, so you can pick it up. You can get special jell-o in america to do it, but i'm hoping two packets will do.

Sounds good Rrrr. You can make it with normal jelly, but instead of using 1/4pint hot water and 1/2pint cold water, use 1/4pint hot, and 1/2pint vodka.

Thought as much, should be tasty. I'll steal jelly from me mam. Ooh, and for some reason, i'll bring dips.
and i hope you're not planning like "Prophets jelly ladies, live for your pleasure" idea or anything (tho it would go well with Sunday Sunday!)
