Well I wish I would've known about how easy it is to "module-switch" before I sent my application! Regardless, I am corresponding (again) with the Admissions department and they seem to be really helpful.

Thanks to everyone for your help and good words. I did consider reapplying through the Direct Application system, but the deadline was March 1, so I don't think it will change anything.

I am also considering Clearing. I am still waiting on a reply from an Admissions tutor, as to see if I have a chance through Clearing. The problem I have with Clearing is I would have to decline all my other offers. I still have a lot more thinking to do...

I got rejected from a few universities... even NAPIER! All they were asking for was BB and I had AABCC. I called them up to ask why and they said they forgot to look over the page to see the rest of the results on my UCAS form. Fucking idiots!

I also got rejections from St. Andrews and Robert Gordons for other mistakes on their behalf.

If you do get rejected but you know you have the grades, by all means call them up and ask why.

yup - very true - i got rejected from st andrews, even though i had the grades - called them up and my ucas form had just got put into the wrong pile. caused no end of stress and upset. but you should call and see - you never know what might have happened. but if in the end, they just had too many applications or something, there are a load of other really nice unis, and it will work out, so try not to stress too much

It doesn't surprise me to learn that the university have lost UCAS forms in the past. One of my mediaeval history tutors was also an Admissions Tutor. She used to turn up to tutorials with dozens of forms crammed into her bag. Any disreputable person could have removed a handful or two. That would have been the end of some people's chances at attending this university, wouldn't it?

Actually, I was discussing this with Wong just the other day - more of a monologue actually - but if you applied for a joke of a subject like IT or something, then it's pretty easy to get in. Once you "sneak" in, you can move around a lot more easily.

To be fair, IT is/was a joke, but comp sci isn't. I mean come on you really trying to tell me SIT is hard?

From what I remember the IT modules were so easy my granny could have done them (and she still has to get the manual out to turn the telly on).

However CS modules, oh dear. They gave me headaches.

P.S. There is a Spoon, he's just spread all over the dinning room wall.
