This is a public message board, are we not allowed to say our opinions now?
There is a section of society in St Andrews that behaves like this and there is nothing wrong with finding it amusing. Most people have nothing against laughing at "neds" for example.
Oh please, when have I pronounced that people are not allowed to voice their opinions? Indeed I do so frequently. But how do we know that none of the users on this board are part of that social group. If somebody told you that they thought the way you behaved was 'laughable', you would find it rude and rather tactless, yes?
People seem not to be actually reading what others are saying. No one is saying that if you kiss someone on the cheek then you are automatically a social climber just that social climbers are the ones who do this in such an OTT way. And it's funny.
OTT, in your opinion I assume. You know that these people are social climbers for sure, do you? Well if so, I stand corrected.
It's called having a bit of fun, I can see that other people are incapable of this.
Yes, that's what they used to call sexual harrassment too.
Yes, why don't we all laugh at people who we find funny. The guy with tourette's on the bus is very funny, I think I might go and laugh at him...
