Original UT is the better game. UT2k3 is just a graphics fest. It feels slow after UT.

Only if you, or your computer can't handle it. An actual every man/woman/thing for themself event would prove who is good at it and who can't handle it. This should compare very well with those who like it and those who don't. Funny that :P

Oh and as for "silence, fool", I', guessing that means "yes you are right, how embarrasing for me, I'll fake man-liness to overcome it".

Ohhh, someone can't take a joke!

I actually have a better PC than you. I'm definately better looking. I'm more intelligent, wittier and have more friends. I am also done with you.

I don't see why. If people act like eejits then they will be made fun of. telling someone "silence, fool" is a little off especially when they made a fair point (as a joke by the looks of it).

If your pc couldn't run the demo then it is down to your pc, not the demo. There is no other explanation.

Such rudeness is not neccessary and certainly won't attract more people to play online. And being less agressively defensive wouldn't go amiss either. I just find it sad when threads look like they're from any other games forum where regulars attack those who dare to make a joke.

Lighten up, pleeeeeeeeeaase!! Am i not allowed to have a bit of a banter with someone?? I was just winding him up, i'm sure he realised this. You know, where i come from, a bit of light banter is harmless fun. I wasn't being in the slightest bit aggresive as you seem to think pussycat, i used no swear words or threatening language.

Seeing as everyone is so interested in my problem, here goes:

I have an AMD Athlon 2700+ with a nvidia GeForce4 128Mb graphics card and 512Mb of RAM. That is, ample hardware to run this demo. Consulting the readme that accompanied the demo, the makers acknowledge that the game, as a demo is a bit buggy. When i say it fucked my comp i mean it restarted it, windows was a bit screwed, then another restart later it was fine. I ran the demo again, same problem. I'm not too bothered as I am not a huge fps fan anyway and don't play many games in general. Are fragger and pussycat now satisfied and can they happily move on with their lives??

If there was a multiplayer on resnet i might join but i would lose horribly as i suck at the UT series, but i don't care, it might be a laugh.

Jonny (will never attempt to have a bit of a banter on a wiredsoc thread due to inability of people to handle it, apologises to those who took offense blah blah blah)

There is a difference between banter and just being rude, as you have more than demonstrated. I would suggest trying to be more mature, but I except you might not be able to handle that. Certainly not without another of your "witty" comebacks.

However I'm sure we can all celebrate the fact that you at least will not be playing UT2004. That fact alone should avoid people being put off even after reading this thread.

I believe the problem was someone's attitude, given that no one else has suggested playing it.

And rudeness is just plain rudeness, trying to excuse it as banter afterwards doesn't cut the mustard.

If you're just like any other arrogant gamers out there who take a joke about their computer system worse than a joke about your lack of manhood, then you should probably put a disclaimer at the top of the boards. Then people like my mates who were looking to play this would probably have whipped up more people to play online instead of deciding to keep it as just an "in hall" thing.

This thread is now boring, but I hope you all feel good that you put people off playing and using this board.

I'm in

Does anyone have any constructive advice (not: your pc sucks as from my good friend 'unregistered user', thank you!)

The demo runs like a dream on my machine then inexplicably restarts my computer after around 5mins (sometimes longer, sometimes less, i never get more than 10mins) of play. It's a bit weird, any ideas?
