Used to be on early on a Saturday and was about lots of very eco-friendly sweet little people living on an island, the other half of which was inhabited by a couple of scary, polluting types. Sounds a bit like Captain planet only better. Out of curiousity did this cartoon involve little stocky people with multi-coloured afros. And was there a big dumb guy, an old captain and a scary 'Cruella Devill'-like skinny woman?

I seem to remember the woman was always raving about a so called "magic coral" that would make her young forever, or something like that. The goodies looked like little trolls.

There was a really weird cartoon I watched as a child, but whenever I descibe it to people, they have no idea what it is. I can only remember sketchy bits, but here goes:

Well, it involved an elderly spectacled Dr Dolittle-like character. He lived in a little cabin house in a wood. In a strange world where everything had a face and talked. Even the trees, the river, everything talked. He had a pocket watch with a face that talked to him. He had a friend who was a badger who wore dungeries. He hoped about the island on an umbrella that doubled up as a po-go stick, and I think also talked to him. There was also a camel that lived in the clouds drinking cups if tea.

I know this sounds completely weird, but I promise you it was a real show. I think it was on Sunday mornings. PLEASE does somebody out there know what this is, or at least recognise it a bit? I have been searching for someone else who saw this cartoon. SOMEBODY must have seen it.

Oh I remember the smoggies. There was an island and a boat in a bay that was spewing petrol and oil. The island was populated by little people and the canera used to go along a long line of them during the theme song. Or am I remembering them wrong?

The baddies lived in the boat polluting the water. The evil bitch was called Emma as far as I can remember. The little people were called the Suntots.

Thank you SOOOOOO much! Everybody said they'd never heard of it and looked at me like I was bonkers. I was beginning to think I had some "special ingredient" in my cookies as a kid or something!

mysterious cities of gold seems to have been completely missed or i have not read the thread close enough. a 39 episode series which has a complete running time of 13 hours. you had death, pirates and the golden condor. what more did we need.

they don't make them like they used to and there will never be a series as great as MCoG again in my opinion.

Cities of Gold and Trumpten Hall used to be my favourites, I haven't been able to remember the name of, of find anyone else who has seen cities of gold. Now know the name I suspect everyone will be like " oh that?!?"

stop-it and tidy-up were fab! i used to love them. also the wuzzles and the get-along gang. great stuff. the care bears used to be one of my faves, along with count duckula, the fraggles, and another one that i don't remember - it had little fairy-type people, who could float in bubbles. don't recall the name. was funky though!
