The high ranking universities have "the most diverse student body, the best services available to LGBT students, best selection of gay friendly courses, friendliest staff and administration, most desirable campus setting, safest campus and most desirable location".

Most of those make sense... but what precisely defines a "gay-friendly course"? All I can conjure up are mental images of geologists clustered around a rock formation, saying "look - those strata are a bit camp!"

I think that would be in reference to particular modules such as EN4009 'Renaissance Sexualities: Rhetoric and the Body 1580-1660' or SA3057 'Sex and Gender' or, indeed, to non-specific courses which have reference to LGBT issues in human geography, literature, anthropology etc.

Haha that made me laugh. I did a first year geography module last year to make up credits and part of it included a field trip to some rocks. The guy was putting his hand all over them and saying, come on boys, feel those rocks, dont be afraid, aren't they so smooth, come get a good feel.
