"What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?"

Sorry, but I had the impulse.

It's almost a pity that Richard is 'involved', what with your common literary interests. The poems are quite good by the way, I'm very impressed.

Sleaze?

Not at all, that all went out in 1997.

Nowadays you just get lobbyists, infighting and stupid policies.

i do not mean to offend but i found your poems bland and without emotion.
i did find the travis ripoff humourous
instead of thinking i must have sorrow to write then try and actually have sorrow. go with a bloke that treats you like dirt, have a dirty break up. also don't feel like you have to write sorrowful stuff for it to be credited.

just because it was your early work i found it rather profound rather than the rest which were written just because you did not have a bloke!

ouch. yes, i know most of my poetry is crap- i've tried to sort it amongst least crappiest to most crappiest. most of the 'alone' poems were written 2-3 years ago, shortly after i broke up with my first boyfriend, and the rest were written after my best friend moved away. you know, i have a guestbook for a reason. i wish you would have put your opinion on there rather than resorting to posting 'your poetry is crap and you are lonely and are desperately seeking a boyfriend,' on this messageboard where all my friends can clearly read something that isn't true (except for the 'crap' part). incidentally, the last poem i wrote was 'spyder savage', i wrote it a long time ago, and it has absolutely nothing to do with love.

it says on this post that i am looking for fun more than i am looking for a boyfriend. anybody here who knows me can testify that i am not a sorrowful lonely person.

Spotlight (aka the creative writing society) run fortnightly discussion evenings for writers of prose, poetry and maybe even drama, where you can come along with your work, pass it around, and speak to other writers.

mostly this is just a social thing, but it can really help to inspire and remotivate people, as well as give them a forum where they can discuss their writing and the writing process.

It might even come under your definition of fun.

keep your eyes tuned to the calendar for more information as and when it appears.

And, we've barred saying stuff like "that's crap" from our meetings, which mostly end up in the pub after ten.

Miss Maryland - the invitation has been offered. we look forward to seeing you about.

She sure isn't... although I think you were way off the mark thinking me and MM would hook up, if I wasn't going out with someone already. She's a nice girl but just not my type ;)

i have a free account now, but what i did was just buy the 2 months for 5 dollars, and then not pay any more. that way you don't have to get a code from somebody. if you get one please tell me so i can add you to my friends list.
