Trad Music

Postby Carrie on Fri Sep 24, 2004 10:00 am

Hi - I am looking for some people to play traditional Scottish/Irish music with. Does anyone perhaps know of a ceilidh band who could use an electric harpist? Is there a Uni society for this sort of thing?

Cheers!

There's a group of folk musicians who play in the Cellar Bar sometimes, if you look at the posters there's bound to be some contact information on there.

Thanks for this. I've been to the session you mention, but I'm quite keen to find a performing group as well as informal sessions. Any ideas anyone?

I play Scottish fiddle music, have been in a few ceilidh bands before, but I've not heard of any such groups while I've been in St Andrews. I could just have not been looking very hard, though.

try getting in touch with the celtic society (i think their email's celticsoc@etc. ), they hold ceilidhs every so often and have contact info for local ceilidh bands.
