Are apparently going to be gassed as there are too many.

Where on earth did you hear that? Anyway, how justifies "too many"? I mean, there's plenty of grass to go around.

I used to know someone who, so moved was he by the bunnies' apparent plight, fed them catfood. Missing the essential point that rabbits are by nature herbivorous.

It's happening around Uni Hall as well apparently so maybe it's happening all over the town where bunnies are to be seen?

Not after gassing them surely? I thought there were getting a few too many as the were digging up the grass a bit too much.

Couldn't the rifle club be asked to gun them down? There's a grassy knoll already by Andrew Melville - everything a prospective sniper could want.

I don't get it; whats the unis problem with a few rabbits? They're not rats - they're not going to be swimming up the toilet's U-bends, or scavenging food from the bins.

The worst they wil do is dig up a few lawns - boo hoo. It's not like this town depends on anyhing involving alot of grass is it... Oh wait... stupid me, I forgot the Bowling Green!

I will have to say that drunken rabbit chasing on the North Haugh is one of my favorite pasttimes. I always wonder what those New Hall security guards think from afar as I galavant across the plains to their north.

I always thought that since New Hall has few traditions compared to the others (being "new" and all) there should be an annual rabbit chase.

First person back to the reception with a live rabbit wins. Prizes are also given to runners up, for teamwork and for the most novel way of capturing a rabbit. Add more prizes if you wish.

I used to try and chase them back in the day, and its pretty tough.

A novel idea?

Postby Joesta on Tue Mar 23, 2004 3:11 am

Thought for the hour:

DRA should be called New Hall. The current New Hall should be called Tubbyland Hall, after the Teletubbies not anything to do with gluttony, which would make it a National Heritage site, based on the program opening up a box of surpirises, such as te youngest building ever to become a national heritage site plus sponsership from the BBC hence lower accomodation costs, and most importantly the rabbits would be protected since you can't have a tellytubby land without rabbits, it's like...students without accomodation.

Drunken rabbit chasing (and, if all goes according to plan, catching) is pretty much the only way I can be assured of a decent meal.
If i lived on the North Haugh, there would be no rabbits left-not an invitation to Roger Smith to exile me to Hellville, I should add.

what is is about this place and killing animals? we use to have loads of cats in gatty, and then they all mysteriosly disappeared. Now there are tons of rabbits, I hope they aren't planning on gassing them too!!
